What I did was find an ob-gyn, (who was recommended to me by a compounding pharmacist in our town) open to the use of natural hormone therapy and alternative medicine. She prescribed the natural progesterone cream, compounded by the pharmacy, which full price was almost $40. However, we have prescription insurance, which did pay on this prescription. I had to send in documentation from the pharmacy along with my claim, as ordinarily they do not cover prescriptions without the usual drug documentation, which compounded hormones do not have. I was surprised and pleased to be reimbursed, so that my total cost for 2 oz was around $10. If you do not have such options as above, the cheapest mail-order I had found before was FemGest (800) 304-1740. My own preference has been to try this cream while being monitored by a doctor I could trust (I have largish fibroids we're "watching"). Good luck.
