I've already begun using natural progesteron cream (over the counter at health food store)... and my symptoms of heavy bleeding, extreme low back pain, cramping, and anemia have been reduced by 80%. My cycles are now normal and regular. I've also switched to a low fat, non-dairy, high fiber, and high soy diet. This has also helped. If I must have the fibroids removed, I have discovered a process called "uterine tumor embolization" which cuts off blood supply to fibroids and they shrink. Both GYN's didn't know anything about it because it's a radiological procedure and they won't make any money off of it if I choose this route. With an H, they make around $25,000 in this region so I've been told. So I understand why they're pushing organ removal. Women have to remember medical care is a business and if GYN's don't do surgery, they can't stay in business so naturally they're going to push the procedure that brings in the most revenue. My doctor also said "stress" doesn't have any affect on fibroid growth . I also have found a great deal of evidence to the contrary. If you would like more information on embolization procedures, I e-mailed UCLA which developed the process. You only get a small incision in groin and recovery time in only a few days vs 1-2 months for H. Plus no scars or organ removal. If anyone has additional info on this subject, please share.
