I have a 8cm fibroid, but it is growing in the muscle of my uterus. I am now facing the difficult decision of whether to have just the fibroid removed, or to have the fibroid and the uterus removed. I was wondering if you could share with me your experience, and if you have made any decisions regarding surgery and what type you might have? I wrote in to the list a few days ago. I'm concerned that if I have the uterus removed, there might be loss of feeling during sex, etc. But, with getting just the fibroid removed, I'm told that this is a much bloodier operation, and that there may be less guarantee that the problem will be resolved.
