Hello,

First of all i have to say that i love this forum. Posted here before in the past and everyone is very helpful.

My problem started about a month ago. My husband and I had oral sex and a few days later i noticed redness, discharge, swelling and a burning sensation in the area between the urethral opening and vagina. I was seen by a CNP and she noticed what looked like open sores. She prescribed an intravaginal cream, an antibiotic just in case they thought it was herpes and took that for 5 days. I was tested from herpes to AIDS and all was NEGATIVE. Everything seemed back to normal and a few days later i went tubing in a river. A few days after that I noticed minor itching and swelling on the inner labia. The itching got worse and so did the swelling a few days later. Itching was all from the area of the clitoris to the vagina. I didn't have a discharge this time, but the itching and swelling were very intense. I spoke with a nurse, was not seen this time, and they had called in a prescription for Terazol. I took that for 3 days but the itching had not totally disappeared. Its been about 2 weeks and during this time the itching had finally gone away. Now, it's back! I'm going crazy. I have the itching, the redness, and the swelling but no discharge. And to top things off, i'm on my period. If i was testing for all the std's and all was negative, what could this be? I asked a nurse and the answer i got was that it could be anything. That sure narrowed things down for me. If it was a yeast infection wouldn't i have a disharge along with the itching? What can be done for my condition? I'm a healthy, hygeinic person. I have used the same soaps, detergents, and have not changed my diet. I've never had this problem before so this is new to me. Any advice/information would be GREATLY appreciated!
