EndometriosisFrom: Maria (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 27 Jul 1999 09:28:50 -0500 (CDT)
I am 30 and I was diagnosed with this in Sept 96. I have tried male hormones whose side-effects are horrific, I cannot use the pill anymore as it is likely I will have a stroke, and there are instances of blood clots in my family. My symptons include: Very painful periods, which are heavy & light, regular / irregular. Considerable pain in the right of my groin, and left of my back. Heavy discharge often containing blood. Attacks of 'thrush' approx every 3 weeks, other unexplained vaginal infections, headaches, nausea, mood swings, extremely painful breasts. Intercourse so painful that I do not attempt it, insertion is okay, but anything further and pain gets to the stage of fainting. My two questions are af follows, relevant to my case: 1. Is there much point in trying hormone injections? 2. Would it be beneficial to have laser treament to reduce some of the scaring.
