Birth Control

Hello everyone,

I have a ignorant question to ask. When should I start taking birth-control for the first time - I mean should I wait until after my period ends or does it matter? My doctor never told me and I don't want to pay another $150.00 to have this question answered.

She wants me to start taking Ahless birth control, apparently the lowest level with less side effects. I don't really know about birth control. I was on Depo Provera for 2 1/2 years and choose to get off it because of the side effects. Does birth control have the same side effects as Depo? I really beleive Depo almost ended my marriage because of some of the side effects. I'm scared the birth control might do the same.

Thank you in advance.
