McIntosh, MD: "Re: Corpus Luteum cyst" Reply: Robert Radnich, M.D.: "Re: Corpus Luteum cyst" It has been determined that the reoccuring severe pain on my right side approx. 48 hours prior to menstruation is caused by the normal formation of a corpus luteum cyst. I have been on OrthaCept since Jan 99 to eliminate the problem but it hasn't been as successful as I would have liked. #1) Since my pain occurs semi-regularly (2 occurences this year - Jan 99 and May 99) what causes these cysts? #2) How does the body rid itself of these cysts?
