Dalaying period on Alesse--need response ASAP! My doctor told me that I should stay on the active pills for one extra week and then take a week off so that I will get my period. However, I forgot to ask her this question--since I am on Alesse (low dose bcp) should I use some sort of back up method during that extra week? I don't know how--or if-- the dosage affects something like this. I've also had a history of random breakthru bleeding every 4 or 5 months.
