Abdominal bloating

Jane, I am 48,nearing menopause,I guess(who in the world knows) and started hot flashes last May.The Dr, gave me Prempro and by the 3rd week I started having abd.pain, backaches and bloating.I was diagnosed with small fibroids 2 Drs.said shouldn't hurt.I went to Gastro.and had every test they had.All negative. So for a year I have had some kind of abd.pain and the bloating has been there most of a year. Both Drs.wanted to start me on a different hormone and I didn't really want to take them so I didn't.I just had a period so I guess this is part of perimenopause. To make a long story short the last 3 weeks along with the bloating, severe indigestion started.I suppose this is all part of hormone imbalance, but how uncomfortable.I heard all about hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, mood springs, but nobody said anything about any pain when you go through this. Two Drs.said could be fibroids, could be adhesions(C-section,tubal 1977)Endo and Hyst, could help.So I am going for the Hyst.the 26th of the month.May not help the bloating but my mother and 2 aunts had breast cancer and the risk of female cancer for me is there.Ovarian scares me to death so I guess I'd rather not worry about it.Maybe crazy.but the last 3 weeks have been miserable.Hope you find some relief.I read somewhere lemon in water helps.Take care.Susan
