Chronic severe pre-ovulation painFrom: Angie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 31 Jan 1999 12:15:51 -0600 (CST)
This has been going on roughly 3-4 years without fail every month. I have seen 2 gyns. and my pcp many times. have had laparoscopy, cbc, smears, cultures, treated for pid, and pain meds, all of which offers no relief. My gyn admits she is at a loss. I am unable to take bcp because all of the brands I have tried make me depressed. The only thing that comes close to cutting the pain is 800mg motrin q3h, I know this is too much to take but I only take it for 2-3 days. The pain always begins in my RLQ then spreads to my entire pelvic region. During the time of pain absolutely any movement I make is extremely painful, especially bm's and voiding. My gyn says I am a candidate for hysterectomy but she can't say this will solve the problem since she doesn't know what it is for sure. I had a tubal ligation 5 yrs. ago. I wonder if this had anything to do with the pain, also I have fibrocystic breast disease and wonder if the two are related. I have access to alot of info. being a nurse but have found no luck on my specific problem. If anyone has any info. on this it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
