Hi Everyone,

UPDATE!!

Thanks for your support, encouragement and wisdom. I finally gave in (thinking I was pg with my symptoms and would just wait for 2 months of no having no period to get professional help) and made an appt. with my doctor. As you may have read from previous posts, last night and last week I had 2 panicky waves of nausea along with breast tenderness/tingling and lower abdominal cramping. During the week, all the "classic symptoms" of pregnancy were also apparent so what was wrong with me??? Without the diagnosis of a professional, I could almost swear that I was pg.

I actually thought that I might be 4-5 weeks pg. Turns out that I did not ovulate at all this month. My doc did a 2nd pg test, a pelvic exam and checked my CM under the microscope. My CM showed no signs of ovulation having occured.

Basically, my Dr. thinks it might be anovulation (lack of progesterone in the second phase of my pre-menstrual cycle for those who just found that they have it like me). I have never been a regular "cycler" (28-50) but I always get my period. I can only attribute this cycle to stress. Glad to know that it is something solvable my Rx.

I was given 5 mg tablets of Aygestin (Norethindrone acetate) to induce my period. I understand this progestin is used to treat menstrual disorders.

** I just thought I would bring this to the OBGYN.netters who are thinking of "sitting on things" - get help!! I am so glad that I did. **

One final question for the Professionals: What symptoms can I expect to have if I am taking the Aygestin pills for the next five days? I understand that I can have a heavy period but will my PMS symptoms worsen?? I am worried and wanted to have a "heads up" on what to expect. Thanks!!

Good luck to all you Parent-wanna-be's out there. There is always the next cycle!! We will not give up!!
