Kathy---All chrosomal defects begin to rise after age 25--sharper increase after age 35.Risk of Downs is approx. 1/289 age 36(1/1200 at age 24).Risk of 15 week amnio less than .5%.The 1/289 reflects only Downs--is little higher for all other defects.
