Here is a link to a "Banter with Dr. B." article about ovarian cysts:

http://www.obgyn.net/women/articles/bradley/banter_0708.htm

This will give you a better idea about ovarian cysts, how they form, etc.

Now, when you say you have cysts 8mm could you possibly be mistaken and could they be 8cm? 8cm is large enough to cause a lot of pain. 8mm is within normal limits and all women get these. If the cysts are really 8mm, then something else is causing all the pain. You need to see your OB/GYN to find out what is causing this pain. If your doctor doesn't seem to eager to figure it out or says "it's all in your head" find another doctor. Good OB/GYN's are out there.

Functional cysts are a normal product of ovulation. Sometimes they don't stop growing and become a problem. Large cysts, 6cm or more, can be cause for surgery. I had this surgery in mid 1998. The only way to prevent functional cysts is a birth control that prevents ovulation. Even though I've had large cysts, I don't have them every month.

I experienced the depo side effects of loss of sex drive and weight gain (18 pounds in one year, but I was really skinny). The pain in your chest and numbness in your arms is very troublesome. I don't think this is a depo side effect. Please go see your doctor about these problems. You could have a serious problem. Numbness is a very serious symptom that can lead to permanent damage.

Please, for your future health, go see your doctor as soon as possible. You might need to see a regular physician about the chest pain and arm tingling and your OB/GYN about the ovarian pain.

I hope you can get all of this resolved and feel better soon.
