With a quantitative beta hcg test, you can learn whether you are pregnant 8-10 days after conception (probably more accurate at about 10 days). As for commercial home pregnancy tests, I WOULD NOT RELY on them before the day your period is due and even a few days later. Some require as much as 100 units of hcg to be found in the urine, and that may not show up until at least two to three weeks after conception.
