I lived in Florida at the time and my husband and I would usually stop at the bait stand, buy 5 dozen large live shrimp - go to the jetties and catch a few fish then I would cook the rest of the bait and we ate shrimp and fish 3 or more times a week - I would also binge on raw oysters - I couldn't get enough! Well, as always too much of a good thing was way too much and I built up a toxic level of Iodine in my system (the shellfish). Luckily my son was unaffected but I understand his thyroid could have been adversely affected. I would advise you to take a close objective look at your diet and make sure you are not eating any one type of food beyond your previously non-pregnant level of consumption. If you are eating seafood, using pre-salted foods or adding salt try to stop for a couple weeks and see if it makes a difference. If I eat potato chips even now, 12 years later, I can expect to see a couple of cysts forming the next day. PersaGel (which can now be purchased without a prescription) is the only thing that works for me - check with your doctor first to make sure it's okay to use.
