work with endo.with diet and stress reduction vs. Lupron?From: Sandy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 30 Nov 1998 15:47:47 -0600 (CST)
Hello, Within the past 3 weeks, i have been through a whirlwind which started with what i thought would be a routine gyno. appointment. i had none of the symptoms (pain etc.) During the pelvic exam, my doctor felt a cyst,. Ultrasound showed a complex mass . Last week , i had surgery. The cyst and the attached ovary were removed and the cyst was found to be benign. There was also a good amount of endometriosis taken off of the remaining ovary. My doctor has suggested a 6-month Lupron treatment she says to "avoid more surgeries". While searching the net for efficacy studies, i came upon The National Lupron Victims Network, which i found disturbing to say the least. ================================ My own theory (this is purely intuitive) on the creation of this disease in my body is that stress and poor nutrition , in that order, are at the root of it. i have met with a good nutritionist and come up with diet/supplement strategy which includes de-stressing practices. My question is : Is my theory and strategy of working with endo. a valid one? Or must i go through 6 months of Lupron anyway, even though i have no pain? Thanks,Sandy
