2ND REQUEST~Vulvar ItchingFrom: Robin (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 25 Nov 1998 17:04:36 -0600 (CST)
Dear Doctor, I had a labial biopsy done approximately two months ago for severe vulvar itching that despite numerous therapies, would not clear up. The biospy showed mild inflammation, for which I was treated with Spectazole Cream and Synalar Ointment, along with ice packs to ease the discomfort. After two weeks, if finally cleared up. The vulvar itching is back again, with a vengeance. I am trying the cream and the ointment again, but it only feels worse, not better. I am using the ice packs as well, and those seem to help the most, but I can't walk around with an ice pack on that area 24/7! When the biopsy was done, he only biopsied one area (believe me, as painful as it was, that was more than enough for me!!). Is it possible it was something else, but because he only biopsied the one area, it did not show? What else can be done at this point in terms of treatment?? I am on my fourth day of treatment again with the cream and ointment, along with the ice packs. I am using both the cream and ointment twice daily as I was instructed to do the first time around. Any help you can give is so greatly appreciated. Have a great Thanksgiving!!
-- Robin
