A question about birth controlFrom: Christy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 20 Nov 1998 18:32:05 -0600 (CST)
I'm wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar as to what I am currently experiencing and if they can help me. Two months ago I started taking birth control pills for the first time. I had perviously experienced spotting during my cycle but it wasn't until I started taking the pills that I bleed almost daily. Part of the month it was almost as though I had two periods...this was my during my first month on the pill, and to be quite frank I am not even sure when I started my period because I bled so much during the month. I have just finished my second month on the pills and experienced no bleeding what so ever during the month. I am concerned because I finished my pills five days ago and I have not started my period yet and I have not had any pms symptoms. I should also mention at this point that I was NOT sexually active during the last month but I was during the previous month. Does anyone know if I should be concerned, and how long I should wait for my period before I contact the doctor? If I start my pills without starting my period won't I skip a month? Help!
