Rectal itchingFrom: Stephanie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 15 Nov 1998 23:41:14 -0500
Hello everyone, Starting yesterday, I noticed some rectal itching that is fairly intense or at least I feel the need to constantly scratch at it. It is probably a hemorrhoid or just from possibly not wiping myself properly during my last bowel movement (sorry for description). There is no bleeding though or any pain. I took one suppository called "Hemorid", especially for women earlier today and wondering if this is what I should be using to treat the itchiness. It says that it is good for itching or pain associated with the rectum or hemorrhoids. But, my rectal area is still really itchy. Do I need something stronger? Should I just let it heal itself and not use any topical ointments or suppositories? This is the second time I've had this occur (the last time was 8 years ago), and wondering if I should look into another product. Also, how long do hemorrhoids last or symptoms such as mine? Thanks! Stephanie
