Opinion on ultrasound results?

Last month, I went for an ultrasound (first one ever!). My doctor said I have a small fibroid on my uterus, my ovaries are normal sized and I have a bunch of clear-filled cysts on both ovaries. When I asked her if this was normal, she said yes but never mentioned PCOS (the original reason for the ultrasound). Does this mean that I don't have PCOS?

I have tons of symptoms of PCOS including elevated testosterone (2X), elevated prolactin (level of 175, being treated with Parlodel), excessive hair on face (moustache and chin hair), legs, stomach (from pubic to navel like a man's!), skin tags, overweight (50 lbs), thinning of head hair (in front), acne. Cycles were regular (but really heavy) with only a few times in the year when I would miss them for a month or two.

I am now on Marvelon 28 (a real miracle BCP!!) which has reduced/lightened hair growth/loss tremendously.....

Thanks doctors and all who reply!

Anne
