Birth control pills -- missed a month

I have been on Loestrin for the past two years. I recently changed jobs and insurance providers, and in the shuffle, was not able to make an appointment with my physician before my prescription ran out in September. My doctor gave me a sample of Allesse to use until my Loestrin prescription is filled. My period has always been very irregular and as is typical after going off the pill, I didn't menstruate in October. Instead of waiting for my period to begin, I began taking the Allesse for November at my normal time (the Sunday after menstruation would have begun), per the instructions for Loestrin, since my doctor told me they were very similar products. My question is, will this put my cycle back into the same schedule as it was before I missed a month? If not, when should I begin taking my normal prescription?
