adenomatous hyperplasiaFrom: Teresa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 11 Nov 1998 00:46:51 -0600 (CST)
I am 38 yrs old and have a hx of DES, infertility and squamous cell carcinoma in-situ (cervix). I had a cold knife cone done 3 yrs ago and have had normal paps since then. I have been having break-thru bleeding throughout my cycle for the past 6 mo. My cycles however, are regular. I had an endometrial biopsy done because of the abnormal bleeding. I found out that I have adenomatous hyperplasia. My doctor has recommended taking provera for 3 mo. She said I wouldn't need to repeat the endometrial biopsy after treatment, because the provera should "take care of it" I am concerned due to my gyn hx. I am also unsure of what exactly a diagnosis of adenomatous hyperplasia means. My doctor said that if left untreated it could become cancerous. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
