You should return to "normal" within a few days - make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids and eating a balanced diet. I remember how exhausted I was after my children were born and taking the time to eat right seemed such a tremendous feat but - especially if you are breastfeeding - it is important to take that time. Try eating a one-handed snack of fruit (apple, grapes, etc.) while you are feeding your baby and drink a full glass of WATER at that time as well. Make sure your regular meals contain plenty of grains and fiber as well as vegetables - again, if you are breastfeeding you may want to stay away from foods that normally cause gas (broccoli, cabbages, etc.) for awhile.
