I'm not a doctor, but I had a horrible time on the pill too. When I finally went off after 2 1/2 years, I felt lousy for one full menstrual cycle. (Bloated, crampy, headaches, etc.) but my period started right on time and I felt great after that. No side effects or withdrawl. But be warned, if you had bad cramps before you went on the pill and they helped get rid of them, they may come back like gangbusters!!! Good Luck.
