Your ovaries are what produce the hormones. If your ovaries were left, you probably will still have symptoms of PMS. I have also had this surgery, and I have one remaining ovary. I have always had only mild PMS, and I do still continue to experience some of the symptoms, minus the obvious, cramping etc.
