There are several possibilities, the most important of which is pregnancy. Every woman knows that not all periods are alike, and that not all vaginal bleeding is a period. If you just had an unusually short menses, with midcycle spotting around ovulation, then pregnancy is a good bet. On the other hand, this could be from an anovulatory cycle. If your pregnancy test is negative after cycle day 35, check with your doctor.
