Abdominal or Pelvic Pain?From: Jean (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 26 Sep 1998 16:50:31 -0500 (CDT)
I am 57 and on ERT (Premphase) for about 5 years. I have been experiencing increasingly painful abdominal or pelvic pain - from the just under the breastbone all the way to the top of my pelvic bone. Everything I read suggests that woman my age do not get endometriosis so I don't know what to suspect, nor even how to describe it well, except it hurts. It is not cramps or gas. Neither GASX or Mylanta helped at all! It is sharp, and steady and will sometimes wake me up at night. While it is going on it hurts to lay on my stomach. It usually occurs about 7 days into the blue pill (progesterone) phase of the ERT and lasts for a day or so. Is is related? This month it was so painful I could hardly stand straight. Any suggestions?
