McIntosh, MD: "Re: Vaginal hysterectomy" I had a vaginal hysterectomy 3 1/2 weeks ago and in general and I am doing very well-in fact I went back to work today!!!! But I do have two questions-I have had spotting almost half of the time-is this normal?? How long will this persist??? Does anyone know? While recovering, I read a book that stated that vaginal prolapse was a common complication of a vaginal hysterectomy. Is this true?? How common is it? Thanks to everyone who has answered my questions leading up to my surgery and thanks for your help now!
