I had a tubal after the birth of my second child and the tubal was done during my C-section, my Dr. said he used "clips". I was always pretty regular as far as my periods went until I had my tubal. I had my first abnormal pap smear at my post partum visit. Its been three years now and my periods are extremely heavy, horrible cramps and UNBELIEVABLY irregular. Sometimes I have a period two weeks apart then other times I have them 30 to 35 days apart, its never the same. I just recently had a follow up pap smear from the one 3 years ago and it also came back abnormal and was called "high grade". However when I went in for the appointment I filled out a self addressed post card that they would send me in the event it was normal!!! Needless to say I had other problems that led to my having an ultrasound and while waiting to return to my doctor for the results of the ultrasound I received my card in the mail saying "You're pap smear was normal please call our office and schedule an appointment in 4 to 6 months", so upon receiving it I threw it out and thought nothing more about it until I went for my ultrasound results, WAS I BLOWN AWAY?! I went into the appointment fully expecting to talk about those results when my Dr. said to me (assuming that someone had told me prior to this and I had not received that card in the mail, due to the fact they only send it when your results are NORMAL), "so you had another abnormal pap smear and this one worries us"... I almost fell to the floor but I was so sure he was wrong I said "NOOOOO I got the card in the mail saying it was normal" if you could have seen the look on that Mans face. He said "they should not have snet you that card, do you still have it?" I said "no I threw it away because it was normal". Well my abnormal pap was high grade and I have since had a colposcopy and it came back as CIN III, my Dr. and I opted for the Hysterectomy which I have yet to schedule. When I came home from that appointment my husband went out to the "dumpster" where he had thrown our trash the night before and retrieved the card which I brought back to my Dr,. to show him that SOMEONE in his office REALLY screwed up, to think that had I not had the ultrasound and needed to go back to the Dr for the results, that they wouldnt have even called me to tell me I had the abnormal pap since the card was sent out to me ... What a scare GEEZ! Sorry this is SO LONG I just wanted to share my personal experience since I had my tubal. Thanks for listening!
