Re: Male/Female OBGYN

As I read this, I felt so embarassed. I also sent my male doctor a long thank you note expressing my gratitude. My last request before going under anesthesia was, "please don't take my ovary." I was in tears over possibly losing an ovary at 23. He did leave the ovary even though that meant leaving part of the cyst. I know that it is an irrational reason, and logically I feel that he is an excellent physician and I should stay. What can I say? I just feel more comfortable with a female doctor. I had problems with depo-provera 2 yrs ago (total lack of sexual desire). It was very difficult for me, but I discussed it with my female doctor. I would not have discussed that with my male doctor. It's irrational, but it's the way that I feel.
