31+ weeks pregnant with severe ripping painsFrom: Susan (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 1 Sep 1998 14:11:15 -0500 (CDT)
I am 31+ weeks pregnant and am having severe ripping pains that seem to go from my vagina up the left side of my abdominal area. They are not constant, however, they are frequent. I have had numerous bacterial vaginosis infections this pregnancy, and just finished my 5th round of anitbiotics for another infection. My last urinalysis came back within normal limits. My next appt is in 5 days when I will be checked for bacterial vaginosis again. I have also noticed that the baby seems to be having frantic movements recently. Could the baby be wrapped in the umbilical cord pulling the plancenta away causing the ripping feeling? Or, could there be a problem with the placenta? I have not had any bleeding which would indicate such a problem, but I guess you never know. I would appreciate any advice on the matter. Thank you Susan
