I'll try to simplify: If a woman has transient mild anemia after menstruation, how many days would you expect it to last--i.e., when should the blood "rebound"? And, is a hemoglobin of 11.5 low enough to cause or contribute to fatigue? (FYI: I was rejected as a blood donor about 7 days after my period ended because of 11.5 Hb [fingerstick], and I have been battling fatigue constantly for many months, so I was just wondering if the low Hb was caused by my period and if it is a significant problem. I am 45, have 10-12 wk fibroid uterus, fairly heavy periods, and bilateral ovarian cysts [thought to be endo]).
