Rather than quote the entirety of this long post, let me try to answer just a few points, based on what I've learned after months of reading and posting to alt.support.breastfeeding and misc.kids.breastfeeding (where the folks who post there, collectively, probably know more about breasts than anybody has a right to know).

Please, forgive me a slightly sniping tone. It's not directed at you. It's directed at the absurdities of the claims in this 'ad'.

Do I think it's safe? Sure. Sounds like breakfast cereal, to me.

Do I think it will really work? No. They claim there are 'natural estrogens' in some of the ingredients (also known as phytoestrogens, such as may be found in soybeans, the way progesterone may be found in wild yams) but they can't possibly target the breasts without affecting other parts of the body too.

Since you've been pregnant twice, I suspect your breast tissue has already been 'developed' (something they claim their product does). But even a woman who has breastfed, when she quits nursing, will not have the kind of breasts they describe (firm, full, etc.) Also, if you're 5'2" and 85 lbs, you probably don't have a very high percentage of body fat. Since breasts have a lot of fat in them (note that overweight women tend to have larger breasts), you may be at your biological limit on breast size, unless you gain weight.

If this is a hormone-type product, should missing a single day make you have to start over from the beginning, as missing a single Pill makes you at risk of ovulation/pregnancy? Now, if they mean the actual *growth* won't begin again for six weeks, I guess I can buy that, but it looks to me more like an effort to make sure you are VERY VERY RELIGIOUS ABOUT TAKING LOTS OF THEIR PILLS.

I don't know what to believe about this. I have been told it isn't good for the breast (or uterus/cervix) to be bombarded with estrogens all the time (which is why a GYN may advise artificially jumpstarting a period if you don't have one for 3 months, and are not pregnant).

I also don't know that it's a good idea to fiddle with your hormones when you're not under a physician's care. *If* this stuff contains phytoestrogens, then it will probably affect more than just your breasts.

I object to the term 'cure'. :P Small breasts are not a disease, and this is not a medical product. They should not be making a claim to cure anything, with a food product. The FDA has laws about this.

Error: the body doesn't work like that, as far as I know. Doctors, please feel free to educate/correct me on this.

Translation: we want to sell you a *lot* of these, and make sure you keep taking them for a long time.

[snip list of ingredients, noting that 'active herbs' doesn't tell you what kind of herbs they use.]

Me? I wouldn't touch them with a ten-foot barge pole, not even for larger breasts. No guarantees, and too many questions. I'm sorry to have to come down so hard on this, if you were feeling hopeful about it, but I really do think it's bogus.

I'll point the newsgroup people at this site, and get their opinions, and post further if anything really interesting comes up.
