Progesterone and HSG ? Reply: Kelly Shanahan, MD: "Re: Progesterone and HSG ?" I posted last month that my progesterone was 9.8. I've had some spotting about 7 days past ovulation (26 day cycle) for the last two months. Talked to my OB about this and he said could be LPD or Endo. My prog this month was 5.4. Lower than last mth. He wants to put me on Clomid this next cycle and also do an HSG to check my tubes. My questions: *Are these the correct steps toward the routine IF workup? * Could I be put on Progesterone instead of Clomid (I'm concerned about taking this drug)? * And, is there anything at all I should ask my OB about the HSG? For example, are there different ways to do the HSG, and which is the least invasive? I'm very concerned about having this done, I heard it can be extremely painful.( I had LEEP done a few month ago).
