external versionFrom: Kirsten (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 30 Apr 1998 17:20:04 -0500 (CDT)
I am 34 weeks pregnant and my doctor (a family physician) says my baby is in a breech position. If the baby hasn't turned by 36 weeks, he will send me to visit the obstetricians in another town to discuss external version. He says when they attempt external version, the ob's will give me an epidural, attempt to turn the baby, and if successful, induce labor with Pitocin. 1. Is it necessary to induce labor? 2. I've read that ECV has a greater success rate if performed before 37 weeks. What is your experience with this? I've read Suzanne's recommended exercises and will try them. Thank you for your time.
