Retta,

OCPs are becoming more and more popular for peri- and menopausal use. They actually have more hormone than the usual menopause hormone preparations, and so they definitely DO take care of the symptoms very well. They also have the built-in period at the end of a pack, so you have a good preventative against endometrial cancer/hyperplasia/etc, which can happen with estrogen replacement. So this is becoming popular in "older" women who DON'T SMOKE.
