Rachael,

Sperm are actually pretty fragile and need lots of special conditions to work right. So getting pregnant from sperm in a spa (where the water is usually chlorinated anyway) would be scientifically impossible. However, there ARE reports of hardy things like herpes simplex living on spa surfaces. So SOME STDs would theoretically be capable of infecting someone in a spa environment. I might add, however, that HIV is NOT one of them (thank God!).
