Very painful intercourse

Marna, I really appreciate your responding. I have researched the Good Housekeeping web site, but didn't find anything. Can you remember anything else about this? As far as getting into Johns Hopkins or any of the big names, I'm in a very remote area and my budget is a bit too tight for extensive travelling and high class medical care. Especially without a guarantee of a cure. Thanks! Ann

I have a similar problem, except that it's been going on for 11 years! I have seen ALL the GYNs in my area, several nurse practitioners, several midwives, even a neurologist as my doctor thought that a nerve didn't grow back normally.
I am experiencing severe pain during intercourse, particularly at the entrance of the vagina. Lubricants and numerous tests (from simple yeast tests to more elaborate ones) have yielded nothing. I have been researching as much as possible on my own, too as no solution has been brought to me. I am pretty good with pain, from childbirth (natural) to major dental work, but this is really too much. It feels like a blade is inserted in my vagina! I have had the same partner (husband), he has tried to be so gentle, and everything, we tried preceeding intercourse with oral sex to hopefully "loosen" my vagina, nothing has worked.
At this point, I don't care if I ever enjoy sex, I just want the pain be gone!
Any advice?

PS: I really appreciate your volunteering at this site! This is my last hope!
