pregnancy complicationFrom: Andrea (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 28 Apr 1998 11:15:14 -0500 (CDT)
My best friend is four and a half months pregnant. The baby has had a strong heartbeat since the 8th week. Her docotor performed a sonogram last week, and detected a problem. She was sent to a specialist who told her she had a tear in her amniotic sac, and that there was very little fluid around her baby. He suggested terminating the pregnancy, since he did not know where the tear was. The baby seems to be growing appropriately, and my friend cannot bear to terminate. She lives close to Dallas, TX. Is there anything she can do to save her baby, or could you recommend a specialist who could help her? Thanks so much for your reply.
