The Return of the Polycystic Ovaries?From: A. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 27 Apr 1998 23:10:54 -0500 (CDT)
I had a laparoscopy a year ago November to correct polycystic ovaries. I got pregnant the next cycle, had my baby in September, and started my period again by the time she was four months old. My doctor thought my cycle should be normal (ie, regular, which it had never been before) now, but this last period was two weeks late - late enough, and accompanied by very sore nipples - that I went out and got a pregnancy test (negative). Well, my period started 2 days after I took the test (of course - doesn't it always?) and I've pinned the sore nipple problem down to Yet Another Bout of Thrush. But I'm still trying to figure out what my body's up to. Is it likely I'll develop polycystic ovaries again, and have irregular cycles and corresponding fertility problems as before? Or could this simply be post-partum erratica? --angela
