yeast infectionsFrom: Cristi (cristi&anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 27 Apr 1998 23:00:34 -0500 (CDT)
I have had chronic yeast infections off and on (mostly on) for the last 10-15 years. I have seen numerous doctors, who have not really provided any help. I recently read The Yeast Connection by Dr. Cook and have been taking acidophilus supplements 3-5 times daily, garlic supplements 3-5 times daily, I have been inserting lactobacillus acidophilus powder (from the supplement capsules) intravaginally but nothing seems to help. I tried to get my doctor to prescribe Nystatin, as Dr. Cook suggested in his book, but she won't prescribe it. I have cut back on sugar, eat yogurt everyday, change immediately out of wet clothes, etc. Any suggestions? Any idea how I can find an OBGYN who might actually talk to me about this instead of suggesting an over the counter medication which is usually not all that effective?
