dear doctor, i'm 28 years old and have been having regular periods for as long as i can remember. my cycle is regularly around 28 days, give or take 3 days early or 3 days late and it lasts about 8 days max. however, starting bout three months ago, my period became irregular, meaning the cycle is more than 30 days and dragged on longer for more than the 8 days. i cannot keep track of it anymore. what is happening to me? should i be concerned over this? i had a pap smear done while i was like 23 but not since. is this dangerous? another thing, i had an abortion once four years ago. it went well and i felt fine afterwards and i never had any problem with my menstrual cycle. there were times when my fiance and i were careless about using contraceptive but i had never gotten pregnant. i'm worried that somehow that one time incident had somehow caused me to be infertile. is this possible? thanks for taking time to answer this. really appreciate it. ashley w
