Too Much Calcium/Kidney Stones

The last time I went for my annual my doctor said I should start taking extra Calcium along with a Multi Vitamin. She recommended 600-800 mg. of Calcium. I already take 800 mg. of Vit. E everyday. I forgot to tell her that I had Kidney stones before. Her reason for recommending the vitamins was just because of my age (37) and to start preventing osteoporosis. Should I be concerned about taking extra calcium if I've had Kidney stones?
