27 years old facing DNC

I am 27 and I specifically asked my OB/GYN for a pelvic ultrasound because my sister-in-law (age 32) was diagnosed with sateg III Ovarian Cancer. During the ultrasound they found a polyp in the endometrium. It was an ideal ultrasound because some menstrual fluid was trapped in the endometrium.

It has been almost 5 months and I just had a follow up pelvic ultrasound and the technician says that although the conditions are not ideal this time, it still looked suspicious. My doctor is recommending a DNC.

I would like to know what risks there are associated with this type of procedure. Also, what is typical recovery time?

I have not had any children yet, but plan on it within 3 years.

Thanks,
