I recently saw my dr. and asked her about possible medical causes for my thinning hair and low libido. She drew blood to check my testosterone levels, which her nurse says came back normal (mine= 39, lab range 14-76). I had a TSH a couple of years ago and it was 2.7 (I've had these problems since before then). I am seeing her again to discuss other options. Are there other possible causes I should pursue with her? On a side note, how do labs determine what a "normal" value is (for any blood component)? Do the researchers assess subjective issues like libido, energy, and hair when determining "normal" ranges for various hormones? Thanks, Andrea
