When I was discharged from the hospital the nurse suggested I take a stool softener but the first time I did it seemed my son had diarrhea so I discontinued using it. Could I have passed the active ingredients in my breast milk? The package indicated breastfeeding mothers should not take it. Is there a certain brand/type that is safe?
