Karen, recent studies in the european literature argue for l leaving cervix in carefully selected patients. They argue for better long term vaginal support and no decrease in sexual response. However, with your history of lower colon involvement the endometriosis may involve the tissues between rectum and lower vagina and cervix--in this case cervix removal is indicated.
