As far as I know, the HCG is used in IVF cycles, if at all. The problem
with HCG is that you can't do a pregnacy test to know if you are really
pregnant or not. If you are using hte progesterone, you can do an early
pregnacy test about 12-13 days after ovulation. If your progesterone
levles are sufficient on hte progesterone supplements I don't see why
you'd switch. In the IVF protocols, when HCG is used, 1500 IU is given
every 3-4 days x 3 doses (from the day of embryo transfer), so I don't
see why you'd be switched to HCG at 5 weeks.
