4 weeks post TAH-BSO; abdominal mass?From: B. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 13 Mar 1998 19:35:25 -0600 (CST)
I am 4 weeks post TAH-BSO during which my DR also removed severe adhesions on the right side along with my appendix (which was doubled over on itself and fused to my colon with adhesions). He also performed a Burch bladder suspension. Adenomyosis was suspected but the path report was negative. Went for my 4 week check and Dr did an internal exam. He apparently did not like the feel of my abdomen and ordered a sono, scheduled for next week. There are some hard areas around the incision, and my abdomen is somewhat swollen (normal, I thought -- or is it?). It was painful when he palpated the area but I am otherwise doing well. Question: what might be the problem? Could new adhesions have formed this quickly? I like to be informed and would like to know what the possibilities are before I go for the sono. Thanks for any help you can give!
