Hi Lora,

I'm sending you a couple of URL's from our Alternatives to Hysterectomies section of OBGYN.net. The first one explains different procedures: http://www.obgyn.net/ah/ah.htm

FemRx our sponsor for alternatives to hysterectomy has a very good site explaining the OPERA and SMART procedures: http://www.obgyn.net/ah/femrx_aub.htm

Check these out and get All the infomation you need, first, then go to her doctor and ask for a second opinion and find Someone that will do Something for your mother. This is not normal. 70 year old women should not be having uterine bleeding. It should Stop with menopause as a natural process of the life cycle. No ovalation no menses; it's as simple as that...

Insurance Will pay for treatment; they just have to be told Why by the physician...I've fought a few battles with insurance companies and fortunatly I have won them all. They have payed and I have had excellent care. It is a shame that physicians have to spend time on the telephone talking to "people" at insurance companies trying to convince them to allow procedures but that is the way it is at this time.

Mom needs something done and there are Many options available fo her. You just need to get someone to listen!

Good luck with this one and keep us informed. Barbara
